From lawn to mulch
Share this tip with your friends!

Mowing your lawn is usually a thankless chore. But what if mowing your lawn could reduce hours of weeding in your garden? Many years ago, my dad taught me this really useful tip. He was the original organic gardener, years before it was “in” to be one.

All you need to do is mow your lawn with the bagger attached. Then, take the grass clippings and evenly spread them over the soil in your garden in between the rows and already emerged plants. This simple tip will save your back and knees from the stress of bending down to extract those pesky weeds. In addition, the grass clippings act as a protective layer over the soil, keeping it from drying out in the heat. Fewer weeds mean more room for your vegetable producing plants to grow big and maximize crop yield.
