I have decided to start this blog as a tribute to the memory of my father, Edward Schwab. My dad taught me from a very young age the wonders of vegetable gardening. Dad went on to have a second successful career as a vintner and grape grower for Autumn Hill Vineyards which he founded. He followed his passion for gardening to a career in making fine wines.

As a child, many summer days were spent planting and tending to our vegetable garden. I treasure my memories of selecting seeds from a catalog with my dad, planting the seeds, weeding, and learning when to harvest. I learned that home grown also meant superior taste.

Which leads to my next love, cooking. Cooking with homegrown produce is a heaven on earth that I would like to share with you. Eating healthy doesn’t have to sacrifice taste.

I want to teach others the joy of vegetable and herb gardening, by providing tips blended with my photography. My photography business of over 30 years has trained my eye to capture the essence of the message with a minimal amount of images.

You can be successful in vegetable gardening even if you do not have a large yard. Raised beds and pots can still produce excellent results and create a beautiful landscape around your home. Let me show you.
